Art Teacher Touch Up [Dork Lifestyle]
I always liked to draw, paint, color, and make art. My family encouraged this by taking me to extra art classes outside of school. I did pretty good, until my teacher would touch up my work. Would you paint on your student’s work if you were a teacher?

That is SO disrespectful. A similar thing happened to me in third grade (I went to Lutheran school). I wrote a little mystery and the villain turned out to be one of my classmates from the second grade who no longer attended the school (I was really into Encyclopedia Brown). I was so pissed when I received the 3rd grade newsletter and found the story all typed up with a new ending. After the big reveal, the girl, the detectives (me and another classmate), all got down on our knees and prayed. I can still remember feeling super angry and violated. I guess that’s a sign that this art form is going to play a major role in your future.
I had no idea this happened to you, too, Ernessa! What a crazy time to have that happen, too – just getting a handle and a love for art and writing. I am sad this happened to us!
I’m shocked I haven’t written about it before myself. File it under artistic child trauma…
