Guess the Random Lyric: FINAL SCORE: Me-2; You-3
Was it just two weeks ago that none of you guys guessed correctly that the last lyric of 2009 was from “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses? Too that point wasn’t enough to win me the week. But it’s 2010 now, and my resolution is to stump you at every turn with Guess the Random Lyric.
Speaking of which, I decided to go with this next song for Standard and/or Showtune Monday, b/c it kept going through my head while I was in Hawaii, even though it was quite warm. Several duos covered this song, so I’ll take any of them, though my favorite remains the writer and his wife who according to NPR, used to sing it at parties for ish and giggles.
My father will be pacing the floor
(listen to the fireplace roar)
So really i’d better scurry
(beautiful please don’t hurry)
Guesses in the comments and since The Waitresses didn’t make a video for “Christmas Wrapping,” I’m throwing up this fairly awesome fan video instead. Nice! Makes me want to record something homemade in 2010, but with like what time?
To me the classic duet is Eartha Kitt and Louis Armstrong singing Baby It's Cold Outside.
I also enjoy Zoey Dashanele (Yeah I don't want to look up how to spell that) and Will Farrell
OR
Me and Louis Armstrong, in my car.
Hahaha! I like to sing the male part, just so I can ham it up!Bored? Check out http://www.fierceandnerdy.com
