Guess the Random Lyric: Final Score: You-4 1/2; Me-1/2
Sadly, BabySmiling from “Baby Smiling in Back Seat” guessed correctly that last Friday’s lyric was from “Veronica” by Elvis Costello. So you didn’t quite wipe the floor with me last week, but you did hurt me. Hurt me bad. But this week, I guarantee, will be different. Let’s do this.
Okay, it’s classic Monday, and I feel glamorous just writing the following lyric:
We’re after the same rainbow’s end–
waiting ’round the bend
Guesses in the comments and Elvis Costello’s grandma grows up after the jump:

I think Henri Mancini wrote this one. Do we get points for knowing the writer?

As a Johnny Mercer fan, I know that he had a hand in this. Was it perhaps a Mancini & Mercer joint?

Audrey Hepburn actually sang it for the movie :) But yes, I think Mancini is the answer, since his instrumental version was technically the first.

Mercer wrote the lyrics, Mancini wrote the music. I was looking for Audrey Hepburn or Andy Williams as the singer. But I'll totally take Mercer and Mancini, since writers never get enough respect. Either way, respect! Totally good job.
