Guess the Random Lyric: Me-1: You-0

What’s that I hear? Is that the sound of me doing the “I stumped you, suckas” dance? Must be because no one guessed that yesterday’s lyric was from “Destroy Everything You Touch” by Ladytron.

But let’s see if you can stage a comeback today.

I used to play this song a lot during my starving artist days. Even though I think it was meant to be a nostalgic love song, it always cheered me up when I was feeling sad about having consigned myself to a life in the arts. But now I often feel nostalgia for this nostalgic song. Go figure.

That all introduced, who sang:

Half of me is ocean
Half of me is sky

Guesses in the comments, but before we jump to the Ladytron video, I just want to address something that was said in the comments yesterday. Suzy Snakeeyes put forth “Rock Me Tonite” by Billy Squier as an example of a worse video than the one for Air Supply’s “Making Love Out of Nothing At All.” My answer to that is no, Suzy. Not only did I dance along with Billy when I was a kid, I love the spastic dancing, and the shirt ripping, and most of all, I love that Billy went for it. I consider this a perfect capsule of a fledgling form. And how fun that the band showed up at the end. The Air Supply video on the other hand is just plain old bad. Even their hair doesn’t look good for the time. At least Billy’s mullet perm was impeccable.

That all argued, you’ll find both Ladytron and Billy Squier after the jump:
