Guess the Random Lyric: Semi-Final Week: You – 2 1/2; Me – 2 1/2

slpc from California guessed correctly that last Friday’s lyric was from “Falling Down” by Tom Waits and covered (rather badly) by Scarlett Johansson. So I’m rather unhappy to report that we ended the week on a tie, and now must go double or nothing. Ranh.

I heard this next one of the radio yesterday and was immediately reminded of how much I loved it as a teen. So plaintively new wave, it makes me feel art schooly, angsty and romantic all at the same time.

   This has been driving me crazy all day. After having it on the tip of my tongue, and knowing the era and origin of the band but not being able to place it, I cracked and looked it up. I might have gotten the title after many more hours of frustration, but I would never ever have gotten the band.
