Guess the Random Lyric: You-1/2; Me-1/2
Well slpc from California guessed correctly that yesterday’s lyric was from a Michael Jackson song, but she didn’t have the song’s title, so we’ve split the point down the middle. An interesting turn of events. But let’s see how you do today.
This song came on the radio the other day, and though CH and I both recognized it, I still ended up having to use the Shazam iPhone app to identify it. B/c this song was covered quite well in the 90s, Shazam only gave me the title, but that was enough for CH and I to figure out both the original and the cover band.
However, when I mentioned using the song for one of this week’s GTRL, CH warned me that it was too easy and that slpc would get it immediately. I’m not so sure about that, but I owe him $2 if I’m wrong, so don’t go getting this all quickly or anything. Or at least if you get it quickly, don’t be slpc. I would really appreciate that.
Anyone who’s ever had a heart
Wouldn’t turn around and break it
Guesses in the comments, and Michael Jackson, overly sincere in black-and-white after the jump.
Tomorrow: It seemed like any time I went into a store with a sound system, back in 90s-era China this song was playing…
Stranger In Moscow – Michael Jackson
yep, christian wins. sweet jane. lou reed (or cowboy junkies, which is always the first version i think of). way too easy. but an amazing song.
and i would have never gotten the title of that michael jackson song. i completely forgot that was the title. was that on HIStory? didn't have that album (probably a good thing).
Yes, it was on the History album. And you're right, it's probably a good thing. I'm a little embarrassed about actually like that song.
I'll give CH his two dollars when he gets home. Grumble, grumble…
