Oh, It’s Tuesday

So I began my reading challenge last night and I discovered the one thing that might be hard about a 20 minute reading challenge: putting the book down after 20 minutes.This seems almost impossible if you like the book, and I happen to like the book I’m reading right now very much. Just in case you’re wondering it’s This Charming Man by the Irish author, Marian Keyes, a charming-yet-bracing piece of women’s fiction  cleverly disquised as chicklit. Also, it has that truly funny situations laced with wild melancholy thing that the Irish seem to do so well.

On one hand, one should give in to good reads and be totally willing to go where an author takes you — you know, truly commit to the trip. After all, I didn’t get to China in little jaunts, did I? I don’t think we even had a layover.

But on the other hand, I do have other things to do: Fierce and Nerdy, my own novel, and it would be nice to occasionally spend time with my husband in the evening.

‘Tis a dilemma.

If anyone has any suggestions about how to limit yourself to just 20 minutes reading a day, please let me know in the comments.
