I still go for my monthly Macy*s clearance rack visits which allows me to find myself something dazzling and sparkly while doing my part to save the US and world economy.

I think a hot mama-to-be should rock dark red nails.

Pink for the nails — it is apparently the new color for Spring.

I stopped getting my nails done regularly a long time ago. I have a few little luxuries I haven't given up, yet. My magazine subscriptions. Coffee on Saturday mornings. Dinners out. And nice bottles of wine.

Never get manicures — my nails are a lost cause.

I stopped getting pedicures, not because of the recession but because I'm not allowed to wear nail polish during IVF egg retrieval or transfer. Seems silly to spend a bundle on a pedicure only to remove the polish and undo it soon after.

Normally I go for facials every 6 weeks, but I've been too busy lately to keep to my schedule.

Not concerned with the recession as much as IVF costs.

Baby shower + Betty = pink! Could do electric pink instead of pastel for more pizazz.

If I could justify taking on a new luxury at this point, it would probably be getting my hair done regularly. As it is, I go in for a trim about once every 3 months and usually only before a (you guessed it) special occasion.

I tried tweezing my brows myself. It hurts and it's boring. So now I've just let them go, though I will get them done before the baby shower, b/c my family will make fun of me.

Wow, as far as "keeping myself up" goes, I'm not doing too well here…
