One More Thing Before We Go: Boudoir Photos
Sooo, I guess there’s this little commercial holiday called Valentine’s Day coming up and apparently the popularity of boudoir photos — risque photos that women take for their significant others — is on the rise. Supposedly their husbands and boyfriends really like these photos.
Now, I’m a little too self-conscious to ever do this, but just in case you’re braver and still looking for a V-Day gift: read about it here.
.
Ah, but does it work both ways?
(A quick Google search will tell you, yes, but do woman like these of their men the same way guys do of their ladies?)

Great question, Nate. For myself, I know that I'm just not as visual as CH. So if he gave me something like this for V-Day, I'd be like, "Um…"
Practically on both sides of the equation, I wonder what you do w/ such pictures. Do you display it as art? Do you keep them hidden and bring them out only for self.
I once knew a guy who's wife make a bikini calendar of herself every year for him. He really loved those calendars and displayed it prominently in his home office. But unhappy ending, that couple got divorced. Sooo…

During the course of planning my wedding I came across many other brides doing boudoir photos. Some of them were really tasteful, personal and unique and others were really trashy and laughable. I think if you find a really talented photographer and do something unique, (like vintage pin-up glam) they can be something to treasure forever.
What is really scary are naked PREGNANCY boudoir photos.

I agree with Janice. If they're merely titillating or verging on trashy (or worse) you'd want to keep them private. But, assuming both people were comfortable doing so (especially if the face were somewhat obscured so the subject wouldn't feel embarrassed), truly beautiful photography could be treated like an art print and hung like any other truly artistic photography.

I am going to admit some thing scary here… I actually considered it.
As with Janice I discovered these during my wedding planning and thought it might be an interesting gift. My husband, then Fiance, however heard me talking about it with my sister in law and his response was adamantly against it. His whole question was why would I want someone else seeing you pose half naked and why would I want pics of you when I have you.
However, I did find a photographer who did vinatage pin up glam and those came out tastefull and amazing. They were also shots I could share with others.
The women I know who did it claim that doing it made them feel beautiful and special.
