It has never occurred to me to sign our cats names to anything, and to tell you the truth, I don't really understand the instinct to do so. But apparently I'm in the minority. 72% — that's insane!

Usually at the holidays only. Plus, I address my mom as Grandma in the presence of my pets. Yeah, it's kinda dumb, but I do it anyway. At least I don't make them wear outfits. (Look, let me hold onto some of my dignity…)

I don't sign their names, but I do have personalized return address labels with caricatures of 'our family' — including the cats. Those address labels make me deliriously happy.

Irony or not, I always include the names of pets when I address my letters or cards to anyone I house-sit for or pet-sit for – but that's primarily for business reasons, you understand. ;) Hey, maybe I can make the stamps tax deductible as a result…?
