Procrastinate on This: Friday Edition [June 3, 2011]

Before we get into the good stuff, can I just say that X-MEN: FIRST CLASS has been receiving excellent reviews (88% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes as of this writing), and that has me excited. Because let’s face it, the only really good movie that’s come out this summer so far is BRIDESMAIDS and that didn’t satisfy my May action quota at all. Let’s hope that June goes better. I’m also looking forward to SUPER 8, GREEN LANTERN, CARS 2, and BAD TEACHER. And though I’m still on the fence about seeing TRANSFORMERS 3, I suppose it would be weird not to give it a mention. Let us know what June movies you’re looking forward to in the comments. But first, procrastinate on this:

I'm still a little sad about the tale of Betty the bald hedgehog. It's like Rudolph the red-nose reindeer, but without the happy ending. Click on the pic for the full story. ~via The Mary Sue

1. As someone with a lot of fear, I found this “Ten Fear Responses That Make No Sense And Why We Have Them” post pretty illuminating. Though, I’d posit that “freezing” makes perfect sense, as it gives us extra time to formulate a plan without giving away our position. [i09]

2. More great tips for writers, this time from novelist, Saralee Rosenberg. [Girlfriends Book Club]

3. Friend of FaN, Delia Hauser, walks you through making your own Personalized Wine Bottle Labels, ostensibly for weddings, but really any event can get its own wine label. Amirite. [Martha Stalwart]

4. Also on the DIY tip — literally — how to paint your nails with stripes. Read through to the comments for a clever (and much easier) typeprint nails recipe. [Jezebel]

5. So when I first saw that there was a HAPPY FEET TWO trailer, I was like, “No way!” But then I saw the trailer. L.L. Cool J mixed with cute penquins, as it turns out, is complete good taste kryptonite, and I will now be seeing this movie in the theater. I’m so ashamed of myself.
