Burning Questions: Colin’s Arc
So I was going to fill this space, by pointing you to Stereohyped, who asked yesterday if endorsements really mattered. Like do we really think that people are influenced to vote by whoever Oprah or Colin Powell or Scarlett Johansson choose as their candidate?
But then I saw at Ash Magazine that the Logo series, Noah’s Arc, is about to become a movie!!! Apparently Noah and his on-again, off-again fellow writer boyfriend, Wade are getting married! Though, it’s one of my most firm beliefs that two writers should never, ever get married to each other under any circumstances, I’m so excited, as I loved this series. It appealed to every soap opera, high-drama-content bone in my body. And it managed to be terrifically funny, bad and awesome at the say time — no easy feat. Ask the American Kath & Kim writers.
However, I have noticed that none of my gay friends in L.A. actually watch this show about gay men living in Los Angeles — but a ton of my black girlfriends do. So based on that empirical evidence, I’m wondering if it’s fanbase isn’t strangely enough, made up entirely of women.
Feel free to weigh in on either Burning Question in the comments. And after the jump, a list of theaters in major cities that are screening Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom.

Maybe you should say writers shouldn’t get married to other writers

Okay you just shined light on my very crappy day! I don’t know if all black women love this show, but this black woman sure does (oh and my mom, my aunt, her bestfriend and several other black women I know). My mom turned me onto it! Only issue is I’ll have to drive all the way to NYC to check it out or wait for Netflix! Yeah!!!!!
hahaha. correction made! of course i think that writers should get married to people in other professions — though I still wouldn’t recommend it for the faint of heart.

Maybe this show is like the gay version of Living Color and Fishbone.
I haven’t tried watching it since the pilot, but JW mentioned discovering it on Logo and watching a bit of it. I guess they’ve been rerunning it like crazy because of the movie. I don’t know if he’s hooked yet, though; he may have just been waiting for Shirts and Skins to come on.

Maybe we are part of some sort of weird exchange program. While I enjoyed the first few episodes of Noah’s Ark, I never really looked back, but I do however love watching my guilty pleasure sitcom “Girlfriends.” Every now and then I need my fix of Joan and all her powerful, successful, funny, crazy friends living in LA. Maybe its the theme song that gets me each time when I can sing along and try out my vocal “run” skills. Maybe its how odd it seems that Kelsey Grammer is one of the creators. MAybe I just need a little more sass in my life. We may never know.

You’re funny, Zacki. But I watched Girlfriends to the bitter end, bad writing be damned. If they make a “Girlfriends” movie, I will definitely put you on the field trip list.
NOAH, NOAH, NOAH!!!!!! Did I mention Noah!!!!
