Guess the Random Lyric: Final Score
Thanks to Angela G from Texas, you guys were able to limp out of last week with a respectable 2:You to 3:Me. I’m pretty psyched to have won 2 weeks in a row. And I’d go for three, but alas, I’ve been meaning to do an all showtunes week, due to popular whine request. So having no idea how many musical theater heads we have in the audience this might be a total bloodbath for either you or me.
Let’s find out shall we.
While traveling in China alone for 10 days, this was the song I sang to myself whenever I got nervous about traveling around such a vast country alone — especially since I was only scraping by in my Spoken Chinese classes and had been told rather sternly by card-carrying communist party member teacher that I was in danger of failing. This solo 10-day trip was actually what allowed me to get out of China with a respectable B in Spoken Chinese — turns out you can learn Chinese really fast when you’re all by yourself and have no one to talk to in English for almost 10 days straight — but I credit this song (and my youth) for giving the guts to go through with it.
That too-long explanation over, who sang:
Try not to get worried, try not to turn on to
Problems that upset you, oh.
Don’t you know
Guesses in the comments. This time we’re asking for the SONG TITLE and the title of the THE MUSICAL it belongs to. Good luck this week, guys. Til tomorrow here’s Friday’s GTRL Juice Newton with “ANGEL OF THE MORNING.” I love how forlorn she looks in the video. I mean even her hair is forlorn. Awesome.
we are gonna kick some ass this week! wohoo
Everything is Alright from Jesus Christ Superstar. Finally, my summer dinner theatre experience has real-world usage!
