Guess the Random Lyric: Me-1; You-1
Mwah-hahaha! No one guessed correctly that yesterday’s lyric was from “Offbeat of the Avenues” by Manhattan Transfer, so zee point is mine, I say, twirling my (hypothetical) mustache.
Which leads us into Soundtrack Wednesday. Now this is a song from one of my favorite movies of the 90s, an indie-studio hybrid centered around the music of the 60s and 70s that didn’t do nearly the box office that it should’ve in my opin. It also brought together two songwriting greats: one from the 70s, one from the 80s-now. And I loved this break-up song the most of the ones that they collaborated on for the movie.
And I’m lost in imagining
Everything that kind of love is worth
As I tumble back down to the earth
Guesses in the comments and the oh-so-90s looking video for “Offbeat of the Avenues” after the jump:
"God give me strength" Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach! I adore that collaboration so much and that cd has been on permanent rotation in my cd player since it came out. This is also a good time to plug the amazing show "Spectacle" that Elvis has been doing on the Sundance channel…..so many amazing artists he has brought on and interviewed!
