Guess the Random Lyric: You-1; Me-0
In a rather annoying double-team, slpc guessed that yesterday’s lyric was from “Volare,” and Zacki from “Tall Glass of Shame” guessed that the artists, whose name had been mentioned on Desperate Housewives 2 eps ago, was Dean Martin.
The reason I put the DH fact in italics is b/c slpc accused me of being too vague in my clue giving especially since I was looking for the cover version of “Volare” that I (and therefore the world should) like best. My response to that accusation is that I actually gave a really big clue — a bigger clue that . Anyone who watched that episode of Desperate Housewives would probably know who I meant, since Dean-o’s name came up TWICE. Once before a crucial plot twist.
On a somewhat related note, the last time I was at slpc’s house for a BBQ, I was accused of being the most obnoxious person to play Taboo with in the history of ever. To that accusation, I have TWO responses: 1) Anyone who would accuse me of being the most obnoxious Taboo player, obviously hasn’t been to Game Night with my extended family, or they would be impressed (as CH is after being traumatized by them on such a night) at just how gracious I turned out to be vis-a-vis party and board games; and 2) My team (which slpc was on) DID win that Taboo game. And we will remain the winners for all of time, b/c I doubt anyone (including my own teammates) would be willing to play with me again. Maybe slpc should thank me for that.
That all defended, last night I had a terrible dream about zombies taking over the world, and human beings acting rather horribly towards each other, and this song was playing in my head when I woke up:
Ice has covered up my parents hands
don’t have any dreams don’t have any plans.
Guesses in the comments, and Dean Martin in charming black and white after the jump:
Ooh ooh! Arcade Fire, Neighborhood #3 (Power Out).
I thought of that song a lot (the whole Funeral album, really) during the ice storm that ousted me from my house for almost a week in December.
I'm going to do an Arcade Fire series/contest on my blog soon. Maybe you'll have a leg up on winning!
