Guess the Random Lyric: You-2; Me-1

Turns out that Zacki from “Tall Glass of Shame” is a huge fan of “God Give Me Strength” by Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach, so he guessed yesterday’s lyric correctly. Grr! Well, at least I can take this opportunity to tell everyone who hasn’t already seen Grace of My Heart to put it in their Netflix queue, cuz it’s awesome, especially if you’re struggling with the concept of using your painful experiences as part of your art.

Okay, the 90s must have been pretty bad for me taste-wise, b/c other than “God Give Me Strength,” I’m pretty embarrassed about liking all of the songs on my slate this week. Which brings us to Black Artist Thursday.

First, I should say that only the lead singer of this band is black. Second, I should say that I hated every single song that this band ever put out, save for this one:

I don’t know what it is.
Something in me just won’t give me a chance.
