Guess the Random Lyrics: Me=2; You=1
Really? Nobody else out there is like a huge Short Circuit fan? Nobody?
Well, yesterday’s lyric was from “Who’s Johnny” by El DeBarge.
And now we’re moving on to Black Artist Friday. Okay, this song is actually a cover – an American male re-doing an English woman’s song. The original singer is incredibly quirky and instantly recognizable, but the cover it’s own kind of R&B awesome. So who sang second…
Ooh, it’s hard on the man,
Now his part is over.
Now starts the craft of the father.
Guesses in the comments and El DeBarge takes the stand after the jump:
That would be "This Woman's Work" by Maxwell. Kate Bush's original version is much better, really. (And I did know "Who's Johnny" from yesterday, but didn't write in. D'oh!)
Of course, the Kate version is always better, but as I said when she was the GTRL last year, covers of her songs are often surprisingly good. And I think Maxwell's cover falls under the surprisingly good category.
