Happy (Belated) Presidents Day OR Hot for President [One More Thing Before We Go]
I will forever regret not seeing this old-timey hot president feature in time to repost for President’s Day. But better late than never, right?
Clockwise, from top left: Teddy Roosevelt (during his time rowing crew at Harvard); Teddy again, as a Harvard freshman (loving the mutton action!); William McKinley as a Union soldier in the Civil War; Rutherford B. Hayes; Abraham Lincoln’s son Robert Todd; and a 16-year-old James Garfield. Gawker via My Daguerrotype Boyfriend
If I were somehow able to bend time, I’d be robbing the cradle but dang James Garfield is a hottie.
As a rule, I’m usually not down with the Republicans, but Teddy Roosevelt is throwing off some major steam. And so is Hayes. But Garfield definitely has it going on, too. What’s striking about all of this is just how badly men aged back in the day. Both Hayes and Garfield weren’t doing themselves any favors with the ridiculous beards. They were both in need of some serious manscaping.
