Procrastinate on This! (4 Trailers after the Jump!)

1:00 pm on a Friday. Quittin’ Time, right? Not quite yet, unfortunately. But here are some fun things to tide you over when the boss isn’t looking.

First of all, if you’re looking for a new job, or even thinking about getting a new job, why don’t you start updating your resume now? One week at a time, so that you’ll be ready when you’re finally ready to make your big move? Here’s a resume tip from Monique King-Viehland to get you started:

Size really does matter!  Especially when it comes to resumes.   I know the first thought most people have when crafting their resume is that you want to include every cool thing about yourself.  I mean, hey your trying to impress these folks, so you can get a job dang it!

But trust me, when it comes to resumes, less is more.

So here is a quick rule of thumb:  your resume should be no more than one page if you have less than 10 years of experience, or you’re making a career change and your experience isn’t relevant to your new goal or you’ve held one or two positions with the same employer. In this case – and no other – smaller is definitely better.

2. After that, you can watch these four Oscar-bait trailers. Two of them star my favorite blond nerd actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman. One is written by one of my favorite screenwriter, Charlie Kauffman. One is written and directed by one of my favorite playwrights, John Patrick Shanley. Two co-star Catherine Keener (where has she been lately?) And one is animated. They’re all after the jump:
