Procrastinate on This! The Same Ole Geek Love Story…
One thing I find really annoying about nearly all love stories written about male geeks is that they’re almost always chasing after a non-geek girl. It feels like there’s this strange type of prejudice when it comes to attractiveness of girl geeks and really all guys just want to get with the homecoming queen, and why should I cheer for that?
Anyway, the below series of ads is more of the same, but at least the animation is clever.

Don't forget nerdy Sandra Bullock in Love Potion No. 9!
No, you did not cite Love Potion No. 9! Can I tell you how much I love that film? Two scientists falling in love in a really clever way. I’m not in the habit of rewatching films, but I always rewatch that one, when I run across it on live TV.

Not to say that I'm nearly the shit or anything, but JP constantly tells me how his friends claim extreme jealousy to having a cute and geeky woman. I think the demand is truly out there, just Hollywood doesn't think it's as good of a story. Well, Juno did good, but that was underage, teenage lust, that doesn't really count, does it? :-)
Yeah, why is it that Hollywood doesn’t think this is a story worth telling, I wonder? I know so many happy geek couples, and I find that way more romantic than stuff like “I Love You, Beth Cooper.” I think what’s missing from rom-coms today is the idea of two people having something in common and getting together despite whatever obstacles. Right now, if a male nerd is featured, the obstacle is ALWAYS social status. Really uncreative. It’s like every rom-com that features nerds is an off-shoot of “The Breakfast Club,” and only opposites are allowed to attract onscreen.
