Procrastinate on This: Wassup Weekend?

Well, it’s one o’clock, which means I’m already thinking hard about the weekend. I mean crazy-hard. I mean when will 5 o’clock get here? I don’t understand why time is moving so fricking slow hard-hard.

What are you guys up to this weekend?

So far, I’m planning to finish the copyedits on my novel; meet-up with Clark who I haven’t seen in forever; buy a bunch of books about what to expect when your expecting + The Accidental Time Machine; phone bank for No on Prop 8; pick up some organic food and cook for the week. I’m trying to get my calorie intake up to 2500 after years of limiting myself to 1500, but I have to do so with good food. My Cooking Light recipes aren’t making the leap, so if you have any ideas, please let me know in the comments.

Is it 5 o’clock yet? No? Well, here are some activities to get you through:

1. Vote for Fierce and Nerdy Contributor, Delia’s Cat Pic at I Can Haz Cheeseburger.

2. Cluck over the state of indie film. This New York Times article basically puts forth that it needs some kind of defibrillator action, because we’re sick of the same old, same old quirky set-ups and characters.

3. If you haven’t seen Once yet, put it in your Netflix queue. Apparently it’s about to be turned into a Broadway play. Not sure how I feel about that, but scarily enough, I’m just now realizing that I might’ve seen every movie that’s ever been turned into a Broadway play. I can’t figure out whether that’s admirable or sad.

4. If you’re suffering from Writer’s (or any kind of arts) Block, start looking into therapy. According to Gawker, the road to a bestseller might go through your shrink.

5.Did You Know: Watch this thought-provoking video about whether are not we’re training ourselves and our kids to be viable in a relentlessly advancing world after the jump. This got me to write a letter to my local PTA, and I don’t even have kids (yet). Not really, but you’ll see why I’m being so dramatic about this after the break. Apologies if you’ve already seen it, but feel free to comment anyway. And if you’re at work. No worries. You don’t need sound to watch it.
