I loved the steam punk YA adventure of the Leviathan series. The world building is spectacular —  think gene splicing meets steam punk. And now Scott Westerfeld and illustrator Keith Thompson have released a manual of all the machines and creatures of this world. If this doesn’t get you to read the series, nothing will.
